In the spirit of reconciliation I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay my respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
I'm a maker of artist books, printed images and paper installations, exploring multiple perspectives, repetition, pattern, and non-traditional surfaces. Personal experiences and memories are integral to my art practice, as well as science-based research and creative writing techniques.
My work explores the space where my body's edges touch the landscape and the natural wonders within it. I primarily work within human modified landscapes, exploring ideas relating to nature-human conflicts, the orchestration of nature and skewed perceptions of what is truly wild and natural.
I have exhibited widely in both regional and private art galleries, with several solo exhibitions. My artist books have been acquired by the State Library of Queensland for their artist book collection and I was a finalist in the 2016 Libris Awards: Australian Artists Book Prize.
I have completed several artist-in-residence community programs, including Curtin Springs Cattle Station in Central Australia and Cataract Gorge in Tasmania. I have also had many years’ experience in facilitating printmaking and book art workshops for regional galleries, local councils and other arts organisations, as well as successfully curating several community exhibitions, including major projects for Papermakers and Artists Queensland in 2014/5 and 2019/20.
In 2021, I founded my print studio 'Art from the Urban Wilderness' which is located in Banyo, a northside suburb of Brisbane.
