2016 INSKIP POINT SERIES OF MONOTYPES
This series of large monoprints were inspired by a camping trip to Inskip Point, between Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island.
The cotton trees grow in the Inskip Point camping area, and many of the leaves have been aggressively attacked by insects, leaving a myriad of beautiful holes. Looking up through the canopy, it feels like I'm gazing at a starry starry night. Just lovely!
These prints use the cotton tree leaves as well as she-oak branchlets to create colour and movement throughout the images. I used blue as the base colour to represent the calmness and tranquility of my camping experience.
This series of prints was a commission for the new Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital and will form part of their collection. You might see them if you ever visit the hospital!
