Playing with Monoprinting
Experience the playfulness and excitement of monoprinting - this is a free and expressive type of printmaking using leaves, grasses, stencils and found objects to create one-of-a-kind and often unexpected images. We'll be using oil based paints and an etching press to create our images, and I'll also show you how you can print at home.
This workshop is suitable for everyone including curious beginners, no printmaking experience required. Older children/young adults who are passionate about nature and art are also welcome if they are supported by a parent who is also participating.
All materials supplied including papers, inks and consumables.
Students to bring – apron, nametag, wear comfortable shoes. BYO lunch and drinks, or there are cafes nearby to buy lunch takeaway and barista coffees.
Date: next date to be advised
Time: 10am to 2.30pm
Cost: $98 all materials included
Location: TBA

I have over 8 years experience in running creative art workshops specialising in monoprinting, gelatine plate monoprinting, drypoint, ezy-carve relief printing and artists books.
My workshops run from 3 hours up to 2 days, and all levels of experience can be catered for. I am particularly interested in giving a fresh creative experience with no pressure to produce a masterpiece, but just to have fun exploring ink, paper, and plant materials. You don't need to be able to draw or paint, just have an open mind and be ready to go out of your comfort zone and find your creative self. You will always take home something....it may be a finished work, the starting point for a new mixed media work, or just renewed enthusiasm and inspiration.
To be kept informed of upcoming workshops (and other interesting events like exhibitions etc), please join my mailing list. (probably only useful if you live in South-East Queensland!).
If you're interested in hearing a couple of times a month about what I'm doing in my art studio, please subscribe to my blog posts. Instructions are here. (great for anyone anywhere in the world!)
